Recently I have written down a few quotes from school because they were just that good and/or funny.
Quote Series #1: two second graders
"Matthew doesn't want me to assassinate him."
Matthew responds, "No! You're not going to assassinate me!"
"Well, I have bad breath."
Student One totally and completely thought assassinate and bad breath went hand&hand. When I relayed the conversation to Peter, he had to agree with Student One. Shesh! It's not like he smells like roses in the morning...
Quote #2: a second grader
Mrs. Styffe asks, "Can you tell me what a wig is?"
Christina confidently replies, "A wig is a kind of hair that doesn't have a head inside."
Well, I guess that's one way to put it....
Quote Series #3
I was on bus duty and standing near a line of small, fragile first and second graders waiting for their bus. Two of my 6th graders approached, both being much taller than I, and were trying to pass through the line. I joked, "Just 'cause you're big sixth graders doesn't mean you can pick on the little guys." Owen in his quick and clever way responded, "OK, Mrs. Styffe, we won't pick on you." Oh how I love quick wit.
Have I told you lately that I love my job? Peter had a gnarly night last night. He was so busy he didn't get any charting done and had to stay over 2+ hours to finish up all the charting. In his 14+ hour shift he only had a 15 minute break and hardly ate anything. I can't imagine.
