The DIY Shelf

The Styffe men rocked this project. Here was phase one that I told you about.
Here's phase two finished
The bottom shelf houses a diagonal row of classic literature. Two photo albums. The checker board Dad made in Jr High (one of my favorite things). Owl bookend. DVD player. And fake peonies.
Middle shelf holds a stack of children's novels, mostly Newbery winners. A photo album. My favorite art from Ireland. Big gardening books. a placemat from a foreign country from a friend's travels. Two small jars that have since been relocated to the small hall shelf.
Top shelf holds two photos, our flower girl basket and a lantern.

In related news, I finally put pictures in the frames that have been hanging around for a few weeks. I've been looking for some artwork for the walls. It's either cheap and ugly or expensive and I like it. That's been my experience lately. I have lots of pictures I've taken that I really like though so I'm gunna go with the self proclaimed art instead.
I took the top picture in Hawaii on our Alden family vacation over 5 years ago.
This is what that trip looked like.
I have yet to see a cooler family portrait.
And the second photo is of my hottie husband coming up the cliffs in Pebble Beach when we visited Monterey last summer.
I took this picture in Yellowstone last summer.
Also, here sits my new plant from Armstrong Garden.
And the last latest improvement...
a full length mirror.
The proof that one was needed...When we were hanging it up, I saw for the first time what my outfit looked like that I had been wearing all day. It was not cute. at all. Aye...if only I had known. or seen. oh well.
xo, p&l
