It's Christmas Eve! Peter's stocking is stuffed, the tree and garland are lit, and our wreath, small Christmas tree and rosemary are filling the house with that yummy Christmas smell. Christmas cards are clipped to string over our window near the couch, my fabric advent calendar is set to go on "24" and Peter is out buying one last gift. Joy is the word I would chose to sum up our emotions. Our savior is born and we are undeserving and forever grateful!
To celebrate, we will be going to church this afternoon, then off to Grandma and Pa Alden's for the evening. Tomorrow morning I will pounce on Peter nice and early like I'm 5 years old and squeal, "It's Christmas! Its Christmas!" We'll have our first "Christmas for 2" time in the morning at our house then head over to my parents' to celebrate with Tiff and Jar and Mom and Dad. At 1:00, 28 people will pour into their house and it will be such a wonderful mix of sounds- greeting, hugs, giggles, and of course...munching. The Terry side of the family is quite the bunch; can't wait!
Later that afternoon we will drive ten minutes to celebrate with Peter's immediate family. We are so thankful our families live so close. It's not unusual to still be giving gifts at 11:30 pm. Elizabeth is the queen of gift giving. This year, I have a stocking hung by their chimney as well. 10 stockings line their mantle! Imagine when they all get married and have babies!
On the 26th, I will be out looking for irresistible 75% Christmas decor while Peter will be looking for an inexpensive washer & dryer set. If not, we'll be back on Craig's list. In the afternoon, we will head to Grandma June and Grandad's house. I'm so excited! I love family and celebrating!
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
