Poetic Progress

There once was a stump that was a pain in the rump so we dug it up, my what a lump, now our front yard is no longer a dump

Are baseboards were tiny and our ceilings stood high so we ripped them all up and now they look fly

White little square tiles covered the fireplace. With a smash and a bash which made quite a clash,
we striped them clean and laid travertine.
(I was really excited about that last rhyme)

The ceiling was dark and we thought,
"Hark! Let's raise it up!"
We tossed out the plastic, that was fantastic; the improvement was nothing short of drastic

In the bathroom the kitchen counters were unsightly,
but we asked politely
and they slipped away discreetly. New granite went in neatly.

The microwave was busted, the oven a bit rusted, and the dishwasher couldn't be trusted.
So we threw in the towel, went on the prowl
and came back with a 3 in 1 deal that all would consider a steal.
(Love that first line)

The kitchen was bland and needed a hand
added red paint, now ain't that quaint!

The patio was bare and it didn't seem fair so we added some plants and even at a glance, you can feel the romance

The mirror in the bathroom was standard
and so I meandered
through the shops, making several stops, in hopes of finding something that pops

We have an attic
Peter is ecstatic
It holds all our belongings
and has room enough for more longings

That's it for now
I'm not sure how
We'll finish our projects
Chow!
