The Kitchen Before
During
and After.
What we did:
Added two can lights above the sink
Covered the linoleum with 20 inch tile squares
Replaced little white tile squares with granite countertop
New dishwasher, oven and microwave
Added the 5 inch baseboards
(you can see on the right but we haven't finished them in the kitchen since we had to wait for the tile to be laid)
Replaced the silver switch plate with a white one to match the others
Still to come in the kitchen:
Remove the plastic covered lights and add 4 can lights
This requires dropping the ceiling 4 inches to fit the can lights, drywall, and some crown molding to finish it off. It will look swanky!
On to the living room
Before:
During
Those are curtain rods, FYI, not ski polls.
After (kind of)
There is now a map above the couch, the mat under the table is now in the kitchen where it belongs. The Home Depot bag on the left has been put in my car so I can return things and my birthday flowers from Peter are not quite as crisp. :) I hope you love my new couch as much as I do!!!
The fireplace
Before
Note the multiple colors inside
During
Dear friend Ben is spray painting the inside black
Peter hosed off the logs
We threw away the nasty old fake embers and bought new ones
We took the chain off
and the not quite "After"
We obviously still need some stone.
Here's what we picked and how it looks with our tiled hearth
doon. doon. doon! The chandelier...
Dreadful Before
It looked like a spider.
Rewired After
Tada!
Peter patched the old hole and now needs to repaint it.
I have a pounding headache and gushing nose.
Ya, still sick from my birthday.
I called in sick to work for the first time in my life yesterday.
I have to finish the rest of the virtual tour next time.
Don't hate me for keeps.
