Some of you may not have been aware but my Aunt Jana (dad's little sister) has been battling cancer for the past 16 months. She had breast cancer 9 years ago and cancer returned to body last year and literally took over. After a long, long battle, lots of treatment, chemo, tests and whatnot, just over a week ago she decided to call hospice. Her body could not handle anymore treatment and she wanted to spend her final days in her home with her daughter, family, and friends. We enjoyed each day with Aunt Jana as we gathered together in this time of great pain. On Monday afternoon, she left this world to join her Lord, Jesus Christ, in heaven. Most of the family was gathered around her bed as she passed from a world pain to a place where pain does not exist. It was a time of rejoicing for her as she receives her new body and a time of great sorrow for those she left behind, particularly her 18 year old daughter, parents, brother and sister. If you would pray for my family during this time of sorrow we would all appreciate it. We are so thankful that we have a savior in Jesus and that my aunt had a wonderful relationship with him since she was a little girl. She was so excited to meet him face to face and talked about it often in her final weeks. The picture above was taken last week; we were singing "All the Single Ladies"-- one of her personal favorites.
