From the Tree Tops

We are having a great time up here in Forest Home. Peter is doing a fabulous job with his first ligit nursing gig. While not applying band aids, assessing respiration conditions on asthmatic campers and cleaning up stubbed toes, we have been reading, hiking, building dams in the river, playing ping pong, drinking milk shakes, and dreaming about the future. We are in this tricky limbo of (a) being responsible adults and finding jobs to pay for our new, independent life and (b) recognizing this is probably the most freedom we will ever have and we should act on it before real life officially starts.
It's a tough call but we are going to go with B. School starts September 2 so we have about a month to play. So today we dreamed. We talked and suggested and shared "It would be fun to..."s. It is common knowledge that Peter loves all things out doors (particularly mountains) and we both love traveling. So the result--a "little" 4,263 mile road trip around the western part of the USofA. We sat here on the computer in between toe stubs and splinter patients and mapped out our trip. We aren't quite sure how long it will take or where we will stay or what stops we will add/delete along the way but we are so pumped! The plan is as follows:
Costa Mesa
Arizona
New Mexico
Colorado
Wyoming
Montana
CANADA
Idaho
Washington
Oregon
Idaho
Utah
Nevada
Costa Mesa
AWESOME!
Crazy? Completely! But that's what you're suppose to do when you're young, right? We would love any input you have on sightseeing. If you have been to any of these states and know of a "must see this"/"must go there", and/or if you know someone in one of those states that likes over night company, let us know! Call, text, facebook, email....let us know. We are makin it happen. Now I just have to figure out how to keep a sweet update going on the blog while we putz around.

Peter is out on the golf cart on his way to take care of a broken toe.
When he gets back, we'll keep planning.

xo, p&l
