I also had an interview today. It was at Turtle Rock Elementary School in Irvine. They called me and asked if I would be interested in an interview. They got my name from the principle at my Mom's school. I said yes. We met today and they really liked me. They said throughout the interview and after, that it was a really good interview and I had excellent answers. This was both encouraging and affirming but certainly no guarantee. They also told me about the other wonderful people they interviewed. The position would be a Para Professional Instructional Assistant. Don't know what that means?? Ya, me either. Basically, I would help lots of different students at different levels with their reading.
I really want the job. I want to be a teacher. I want to wake up in the morning and know where I'm going. I want to build on relationships with students and staff members. I have gotten a few sub calls already and let's just say, "Ugg." Peter didn't know how much fun it was to be woken up at 5:45 am to hear a job assignment. Now he knows. Don't get me wrong, if I don't get the job I will gear myself up for subbing. I mean, when Peter gets 5 days off in a row and we want to go somewhere- we can, cause I'm a sub and I don't have to accept work! It's a great nice trade off. I'm getting pretty discouraged with the whole teaching gig, though. I just want to know God's plan. Where does he want me? I'm pretty terrible at the waiting game. But what choice do I have?
Grandma A has been doing some serious damage on my wedding quilt. By "damage" I mean she isn't waiting for a time when we can do it together and just keeps working on it by herself! I know I am of little help but I didn't want to dump a project on her! She is absolutely marvelous with her sewing machine, pins & thread. We have 100 signature squares and a 5 inch board around the squares. Wanna see the work in progress?
Peter got his first pay check! It was very exciting to have earn our first real paycheck. We took a picture of it. Then we took a picture of it with the stack of bills next to it. :) Yes, reality has hit.
I'm going to go to bed now. I try to stay up late so I can sleep in with Peter in the mornings. He doesn't really like it when I act like a five year old and ask him over and over again if he's awake. I just want to play! I just want to hang out! Not sleep the day away!
xo, p&l
