I bet you are starting to catch the drift that I had a fantastic week! (Of course this is aside from the fact that Laura and I have been 3,000 miles apart for nearly 4 weeks) Since Ben and I got turned around from making a second trip up Baldy on Saturday Noah and I gave it a second shot today. Noah has been begging me to take him on a backpacking trip or climbing in the snow so today was the day. After experiencing the chaotic traffic from the day before we made sure to be up by 5AM. We then carefully dodged all the idiot drivers without a clue of how to drive in the snow/ice and we made it to the trail head.
The conditions were absolutely gorgeous and our time together will remain a cherished memory.We climbed to the Baldy Ski Hut at 8,200 feet in more snow than I have ever seen; at least 6 feet fell at the hut in 6 days. It was a taxing day for both of us but it was so much fun to share my mountain with my brother.
This is incredible Peter! I can imagine what a blast that was to get to share Baldy with Noah! I like the icicle photo :) See you guys soon! It's been a month since we've seen you!
