That's all. See you soon.
Oh, I guess I'll share a little too. So it's really rainy and stormy...maybe it blew in from the west coast.... :) This morning just Astrid and I were home and the house cleaners were here. Everything's going great until the fire bell starts blaring. Fight or flight kicked in real quick. As the babysitter, it is always a little tricky in these types of situations because I try to think like her parents. So I called them, started loading up the stroller with jackets, hats, shoes, and socks, all while trying to explain in Spanish what we were doing to the cleaning crew. I also looked at my suit case and tried to think quickly what I did not want to part with permanently. As we are running out the door I realize I have to take the stairs. My arms are already loaded at this point put I collect all her clothing and her and charge for the stairs. Other mothers are also carrying their babies with pajamas and bare toes down to the lobby. Let me remind you, the bell is screaming loud. Louder even then the baby screaming. My hands are too full to cover any of our ears and my cell phone is ringing with her parents calling. Quite a visual, no? So as we all gather in the lobby to decide our next move (it is pouring outside and very cold), the fireman arrive and other residents share that a pipe burst on the third floor and is pouring down into the second and first floors. They rush to the source and we wait, wide eyed while trying to put shoes on our babies. The water is coming down on the opposite side of the building and soon they give word that we can go back upstairs. Before we disperse, one woman with her arms full of clothes and her baby wisely states, "It's nothing compared to Haiti."
