We got a few things accomplished today and it feels/looks great!! The tile on the floor is all set and done in the bathroom, kitchen, and hearth. We love the way it turned out! Our new sinks are surrounded by beautiful new granite. We didn't know what it would look like and arethrileld with the outcome! The floor and counter compliment each other really well. Pretty awesome considering they were both chosen for us separately. I have pictures but it is too much work to upload them on the computer and then on to here and it's been a tiring two weeks.
Peter's at work right now...I was at the house by 9am to meet the internet man (also got set up today) and then 6 construction men who were already hard at work. We were so grateful for them. I bought them a pizza for lunch. It was pretty crowded at our place. The AT&T guy wanted to know where the phone cord was. I had no idea! We don't use a house phone! I sent him on a wild goose chase. We have an unusual amount of blank plates on our walls so I pointed out a few while he unscrewed them only to discover an empty hole. Very odd. We finally found it in the kitchen which was very crowded considering the counter guys and tile guys were also in there. He rewired it to go into the laundry room so we don't have our internet contraption sitting on the floor in the kitchen. How nice of him.
I finished removing the last bit of baseboards downstairs, checked on my herb garden I planted the day before, documented the happenings with my camera, and admired all our new bits and pieces that make up our new house. Peter and I stopped by again that night so he could check out the changes. He was very pleased. Also, the tile guys were stiull working! I'm pretty sure they put in 12 hours at our house today. Nuts!
Mom also declared today "Clean the Closet Day". That project was an all day gig. I helped when I was over- I also inhereted some of her old things. :)
In addition to the various home improvements, Peter and I also reconnected/met some of Peter's cousins who were visiting from Ohio. I love family and it was a pleasure to meet more!
The other day I came home from work. Peter had been sleeping because he worked the night before and he stumbles out into the empty living room (we are talking about Victoria now) and asks, "What is up with all these flies?" I then notice what he is refering to: There are at least 50 flies in our house swarming around the windows. SICK! Our only guess is that one got in and hatched eggs and all were now trying to get out. It was digusting. I suddenly wished I had a frog or a lizard. Instead we opened the door and took off the window screens. They were out soon enough after Peter shewed them. Again, sick! There is hardly anything in our house so it was really strange.
I got a BTSA support person!! I am so excited because now I know I am officially doing the clear credentialing program! Whoo!
That's all for now.
Happy Halloween, I mean...Happy Birthday week to me! We have big stuff planned.
