First goal: Be on Amazing Race. "Peter and Laura, Recently Married". That's how they will describe us. We would have so much fun. Peter would be so good at it. We are a good team. We could see the world, quickly mind you, without paying for anything. Sounds like a great idea to me! I'm going to apply.
Second goal: Be a High School English Teacher. Friday, October 2, I subbed at Univeristy High School in Irvine. Three periods of AP English seniors and two periods of freshman honors English. Loved it. Loved it. LOVED it. I love the age, I love the subject, I love the conversations that can take place, I love how the students are figuring out who they are and who they want to be. I want to be apart of that scene. I have always wanted to teach high school English but I was afraid of the content--I didn't know if I could handle it. Well, I'm going to go for it. I have to take the English CSET which is four separate tests. These will be very difficult to pass since I only have average English training. But I can study! If it doesn't happen, then I will never wonder if I could have done it. If/ hopefully when I pass, I take a curriculum class at Biola and that's it! I've got two credentials! You can't hit a home run unless you step up to the plate. I'll keep you posted.
Wedding update: We registered at Crate and Barrel yesterday! It was so fun! They totally wined and dined us. It was a special registry event and the store opened early for engaged couples. We were tired after three hours but once we got home and got some food in our tummys we wanted to head back out and register at Target. Time did not allow however. We met our friends Deb and Brian at Disneyland. You will notice on our registry that their are quite a few rustic items. I love Peter's input in the objects we will fill our home with. He's got such good ideas! So, check it out! We only have 25 items so far....This weekend we are going to hit Target. Camping gear!!
Tomorrow is Heidi's birthday (college roommate) which means Ingrid Michaelson concert in LA. Whoop. Night All.
