Rwanda Ride

It doesn't get any cuter than that right there.

This morning, Dad and I left the house at 6:20 so we could cheer Peter on as he suited up and hoped on his bike for the 50 mile Rwanda ride. Yep, I said 50 -- that's not a typo. He was suppose to go with a couple of guys from my street that he normally rides with but they all bailed at the last minute. He decided to still register and here he is on the morning of the big event. He has wanted to participate in this ride for over a year now. He's been conditioning for a few weeks, got his bike tuned up yesterday at Sport Chalet and mentally geared up for the challenge. Despite the planning, he still woke up to a flat front tire. Odd, since it was fine last night and hadn't been touched since. You know Peter though, takes a lot to frazzle him. He switched out the tube, readjusted the wheel, yada, yada, yada. I don't know all the gizmo terms. Dad and I spent about 30 minutes with him and it was fun to feel the energy of the morning with all the riders getting ready and excited to take off.

Dad's making hilarious comments to help wake up my honey.

Pointing to "the big stud" as my Dad often calls him.

I'm so proud of him. He looks for challenges and conquers them.

Here's Peter with all the others who love to bike ride and choose to use their passion to buy bikes for Rwandans so they can transport their produce more efficiently to the market place.

And he's off. See you 50 miles later!

Now, I gotta get ready for my lingerie shower!! Whoop! Whoop!
